Sixty-six drivers turned out for the fourth points event of the 2010 FCSCC autocross season. This was our only Saturday event of the season, and it was a scorcher. The National Weather Service station at nearby Sikorsky Airport registered a new record high of 95 degrees. A mild breeze kept things tolerable, and most people kept in the shade of the tree between the gates. Event Chair Mike Raver kept things running smoothly all day, giving participants seven competition runs and quite a few fun runs, while still having trophies handed out by about 4 o'clock.

The course was designed by your humble webmaster, and featured a mix of moderately tight turns and open sections. The course rewarded looking ahead, and selecting the proper line when given a choice. An element in the middle of the course was based on the Red Bull air race "quadro" - a box with cones at the corners that is passed through in one direction, then the driver makes a 270-degree turn to pass through the box again at a right angle to the first time through. Drivers seemed to like the course, with some commenting that it drove differently than they thought it would during their course walk. It did somewhat favor point-end-shoot cars with the tighter turns leading to faster sections, and the results reflect that. The course designer has filed a note for next year.

Congratulations to Kyle Bishop for grabbing the Raw Fastest Time of Day after a good battle with Phil Mackaronis, to Tom Mak for taking PAX FTD, and to Bryan Mancuso on getting the Rookie FTD.
